RETURN ON IMPACT

"The great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it."

- William James

Too much emphasis can be placed on Return on Investment.
Of course organizations need to be profitable.
However, what keeps people coming back, remain loyal, support and refer others is often more about how you make someone feel than what they purchase.

I’m not talking about gimmicks, hype and discounts.
I’m taking about creating a real sense of belonging, purpose and being a part of something larger than oneself. Tayor has Swifties. Lady Gaga has Little Monsters. Nordstroms has legendary customer service.

Impact is more intangible, yet more important. How can you measure:

• a doctor’s bedside manner
- treating patients with respect, truly listening and answering questions

• empowering employees to anticipate and solve customer’s problems - doing the right thing even when there is no policy or procedure

• business and personal relationships

Some things are priceless and can’t be reduced to a line item on a spreadsheet.

What impact are you making inside or out of your organization?
